Our teacher and director for this cruise is Sally Sassen. Sally has been teaching bridge for 30 years, starting in her neighborhood bridge club to bring in new players. She has been teaching formal classes for the Bridge Center of Austin for the past 8 years. Although she has played bridge for years, she started duplicate bridge after retirement in the 2000s.
She is an accredited instructor through the American Contract Bridge Association's TAP program. She is a director/instructor at the Bridge Center of Austin, a BCA partner/owner, and president of the Board of Directors. She has also served on task forces for the Unit and District exploring member recruitment and training.
During the pandemic, she developed online training courses and continued to bring in new bridge players. After a professional life as a public affairs specialist for the Federal government, she now enjoys working with newcomers to bridge.
